Previous generations of wireless chargers for office furniture not only struggle with the changing demands of new technology like MagSafe but were also risky to install due the need to route surfaces down to wafer thin thicknesses. UTS-2 and it’s IPC™ technology was created to change the way designers approach wireless charging for office furniture by greatly reducing installation risk whilst ensuring universal compatibility with the latest mobile phones in the market.
Kew Labs UTS-2 has been redesigned with the office in mind. Smaller and easier to install UTS-2 now takes up less under-surface real estate with a new all white design that blends in seamlessly with office furniture.
The introduction of USB-C power system brings incredible flexibility in how many chargers you can power together and how few outlets you’ll need. USB-C Power hubs can let you power up to 6 chargers off one power source like the diagram shown.
Yes! As long as that desk is not metallic and is within our thickness requirements of 8-12mm (0.31″-0.5″) Kew Labs wireless charging can be attached directly with screws or tape provided to provide all work stations with wireless charging.
If surfaces are thicker, you’ll likely require your surface to be routed to specification.

Using USB-C power – you can connect a multitude of chargers to one power outlet using a USB-C hub. Each USB-C output requires 20W of power to ensure each charger is correctly powered.
We recommend Satechi USB-C power hubs that will let you connect up to 6 chargers with one power outlet. For more information read our installation page in the link below or contact us for wholesale requirements.

Not at all. Kew Labs stickers are designed to be subtle and hard wearing but they are not required for our chargers to work although we do recommend incorporating a surface design that identifies where the charging position is. This can be done through recessed inlays, resin spots and other surface finishes.
Kew Labs latest UTS-2 Wireless Chargers were chosen to bring the next level of connectivity to meeting rooms at an international law firm in London, with over 60 charging points installed in the offices to make sure professional stay charged which ever room they were in and regardless of the material.
In OPM Furniture’s words:
“The client chose a sophisticated palette of tabletop finishes, incorporating quartz, leather, and brass inlays. The tabletops are seamlessly integrated with microphones, speakers, and either wireless charging or a combination of OPM Face-to-Face and Soft Lift connectivity pods. The wooden reeded table bases conceal cable management pathways and provide easy access for maintenance.”
When Dfm put together their plans for the ultimate executive and connected desk, wireless charging was a feature they were keen to add. After testing other office furniture wireless charging options in the market they settled on Kew Lab’s due to both it’s safe and reliable performance and superior communication and charging technology through thicker surfaces. The result was the LUX table.
In their own words:
“LUX is contract furniture at its highest form. A maximalist approach to desking and conferencing. The most elegant materials, the sinuous curves, the glisten of metal, docking, adjusting and charging means function has never been compromised for form, and vice versa. The balance of power as furniture.”
